This 4-day safari takes you through three of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. From the ancient baobab-studded landscapes of Tarangire, to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the lush wildlife-rich Lake Manyara, this journey blends diverse habitats, abundant wildlife, and unforgettable scenery.
After breakfast in Arusha, you will depart for Tarangire National Park, a haven of wildlife and ancient landscapes. The park is dotted with towering baobab trees and is renowned for hosting the largest herds of elephants in Tanzania. You will spend the day on a game drive, exploring its varied habitats and spotting diverse wildlife including zebras, wildebeests, lions, and over 500 species of birds. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park to maximize your time with nature. In the late afternoon, you will head to your lodge or camp where dinner and overnight accommodation await. Highlight: Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds and incredible birdlife.
After an early breakfast, you will leave Tarangire and make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places to witness the Big Five in a single day. During your full-day game drive, you will have the chance to see lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and perhaps even the endangered black rhino. A picnic lunch will be served in the crater, surrounded by breathtaking views. By evening, you will return to your lodge on the crater rim or nearby for dinner and an overnight stay. Highlight: Ngorongoro Crater offers some of the best opportunities to spot the rare black rhino.
Following breakfast, your journey continues to Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful reserve nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley. The park is celebrated for its tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos, and diverse ecosystems ranging from lush groundwater forests to open savannah. During your game drive, you may also encounter hippos wallowing in the pools, elephants moving through the forests, and a wide variety of bird species. Later in the evening, you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation. Highlight: Lake Manyara is one of the few places in the world where lions are known to climb trees.
After breakfast, you may enjoy a short morning game drive in Lake Manyara or take some time to relax at the lodge. Later, you will begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving by midday or afternoon. This marks the end of your memorable 4-day safari across three of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations.
